The 2026 Ashanti Region Super Zonals athletics championship ended with outstanding performances as Gladys Boateng of St. Louis Senior High School and Blessed Owusu of St. Hubert Seminary Senior High School emerged as the overall best track athletes in the female and male categories respectively.

Gladys Boateng Dominates Girls’ Track Events

Gladys Boateng, popularly known as “Gaza,” delivered one of the most remarkable performances of the championship while representing St. Louis Senior High School. The talented sprinter secured a total of six medals, finishing the competition with three gold medals, two silver medals and one bronze medal.

Her impressive medal haul made her the most decorated female athlete at the Ashanti Super Zonals 2026, earning her the ultimate recognition as the best overall track athlete in the girls’ category.

Boateng’s speed, consistency and determination on the track drew loud cheers from spectators and praise from coaches who described her performance as one of the highlights of the regional championship.

Blessed Owusu Wins Boys’ Overall Best Athlete

In the boys’ division, Blessed Owusu of St. Hubert Seminary Senior High School clinched the top honor after delivering a flawless performance on the track.
