A shocking tragedy has been reported in Subrim Nkwanta in Ghana’s Western North Region after a 23-year-old man identified as Prince, popularly known as “On God”, was arrested for allegedly setting fire to the home of his former girlfriend, resulting in multiple deaths.

According to reports from the community, the incident involved Prince, a local palm wine tapper, and his former partner Felicia, a 19-year-old who previously attended Queens Senior High School. The two are said to have been in a relationship for about six months before tensions escalated between them and Felicia’s family.
Relationship Turned Sour After Accident
Residents say the relationship began normally but later deteriorated after Felicia reportedly suffered injuries in an accident allegedly caused by Prince. She was hospitalized following the incident, and medical bills reportedly became overwhelming.
Sources indicate that Prince allegedly failed to support Felicia during her hospital stay, forcing the young woman to contact her family for financial assistance. After the family intervened and helped settle the medical expenses, they reportedly warned Prince to stay away.
Suspect Allegedly Threatened Family
Community members say the suspect later returned to the family house insisting he had come to take Felicia as his wife. When the family refused, he allegedly threatened them, warning that they would “see where power and fire lie” if they did not comply.
The situation escalated dramatically days later when the suspect allegedly sneaked into the compound at night.
House Set Ablaze in Deadly Attack
Residents believe the suspect allegedly poured petrol around the house and locked the main door from outside before setting the building on fire, trapping occupants inside. The blaze reportedly killed Felicia, her mother, and her elder sister identified as Dora Adoma, who was reportedly pregnant at the time.
The tragic incident has shocked the local community, with many residents describing it as one of the most disturbing crimes the area has witnessed in recent years.
Police Arrest Suspect in Bibiani
Following the attack, the suspect reportedly fled the area and remained on the run for several days. However, police eventually tracked him down and arrested him in Bibiani in the Western North Region.
Authorities say he is currently in police custody and is expected to face charges in connection with the deadly incident.
