Ghanaian Business Mogul Richard Nii Armah Quaye Donates ₵200,000 to Support Ga-Mashie Homowo Celebration

In a remarkable gesture of cultural pride and community support, Ghanaian business mogul Richard Nii Armah Quaye has donated a total of ₵200,000, along with other valuable items, to four key traditional authorities as part of the ongoing Ga-Mashie Homowo festivities.

Earlier today, Mr. Quaye visited Ga-Mashie, where he personally presented ₵50,000 each to the Akanmajen Traditional Council, Akumajay Mantse We, Gbese Mantse Palace, and Abola Mantse We. The donations also included assorted provisions and ceremonial items to aid in the successful observance of the annual celebration.

Addressing the gathering, Richard Nii Armah Quaye expressed deep gratitude and a sense of belonging to his roots.

“As my name goes, Richard Nii Armah Quaye, I am a son of the soil,” he stated warmly. “I have not visited these palaces before, but as a true son of the soil, it is only right to support a worthy cause and contribute to the development of Ga-Dangme.”

The Ga-Mashie Homowo festival, one of the most significant cultural celebrations in the Greater Accra Region, commemorates the historic triumph of the Ga people over famine. It is marked by traditional rites, drumming, dancing, and communal feasts. Contributions such as Mr. Quaye’s play a crucial role in sustaining the rich heritage and supporting the community’s development initiatives.

Mr. Quaye’s visit and donation not only strengthened ties with his cultural heritage but also highlighted the importance of giving back to one’s community — especially during moments of celebration and remembrance.
