At least 11 people have been injured following a serious head-on collision on the busy Accra–Kumasi Highway, highlighting ongoing road safety concerns on one of Ghana’s most critical transport corridors.
Accident Occurred Near Enyiresi
The crash happened on March 23, 2026, at Frimpongso Junction near Enyiresi in the Eastern Region. Emergency responders from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) at the Anyinam Fire Station were quickly dispatched to the scene after receiving distress calls.
According to official reports, the accident involved a Toyota Camry and a Toyota Voxy, which collided head-on, leaving six males and five females injured.
Victims Rescued Before Fire Service Arrival
The GNFS team arrived at approximately 17:27 hours but found that bystanders had already stepped in to rescue the victims. All injured persons were transported to the Enyiresi Government Hospital for immediate medical attention.
