Ghanaian football legend André Ayew has officially completed a move to Dutch Eredivisie club NAC Breda in the ongoing winter transfer window. The 36-year-old Black Stars icon signed with Breda on a free transfer, inking a deal that keeps him at the club until the end of the 2025–26 season, with an option to extend based on his performances.
Ayew, who had been without a club since leaving French side Le Havre in May 2025, brings a wealth of experience to his new team. The veteran forward has featured in over 120 matches for the Ghana national team and enjoyed a storied club career across Europe, including stints at Olympique Marseille, Swansea City, and West Ham United.

The move to NAC Breda marks Ayew’s return to top-flight European football as the club battles to stay in the Eredivisie. With Breda currently facing a difficult season, the Ghanaian star’s leadership and experience are expected to be crucial in their relegation fight.
Speaking on his transfer, Ayew said he relishes new challenges and is committed to giving his all for the club and his teammates, aiming to help NAC remain in the Dutch top flight.
Ayew becomes the third Ghanaian in the NAC Breda squad, joining fellow internationals Denis Odoi and Kamal Sowah, strengthening the club’s Ghanaian contingent.
