Sources indicate that after waiting and realising his friend was still absent, Austin allegedly engaged in what some described as “jokes” with a pregnant woman living in the compound. The woman reportedly felt uncomfortable and raised an alarm.

Residents in the area allegedly mistook the situation for a theft attempt. In response, some local youth — commonly referred to as “area boys” — confronted the young man.

UK Military Body Faces Criticism Over Access to Asante Artefacts

A British military institution has come under renewed criticism following reports that access to historically looted Asante artefacts has been restricted, reigniting debate over colonial-era restitution.

Historic Tensions Resurface

The controversy centres on items taken during 19th-century conflicts between British forces and the Asante Kingdom. Reporting by The Guardian states that the Royal Artillery has faced calls to improve transparency regarding public access.

The artefacts remain symbols of colonial conquest and cultural displacement, with campaigners arguing they should be returned to Ghana.

Debate Over Restitution

The issue forms part of a broader international conversation about repatriation of cultural heritage. Several European institutions have in recent years begun returning artefacts to African nations.

Ghanaian historians say the debate is about more than objects — it concerns identity, dignity and historical justice. Further developments are being monitored by GhanaMedia.net.

Ghana Announces Sweeping Reforms in Artisanal Gold Mining Sector

Ghana has unveiled sweeping reforms aimed at formalising its artisanal and small-scale gold mining sector, in what officials describe as a major effort to curb smuggling and increase foreign exchange earnings.

Targeting 127 Tonnes Annually

Authorities say the reforms are designed to channel up to 127 metric tonnes of gold annually into regulated trade systems. According to reporting by Reuters, Ghana loses billions of dollars each year through informal exports and underreporting.

The government plans to strengthen oversight mechanisms, introduce stricter purchasing frameworks and enhance environmental compliance measures.

Balancing Revenue and Environmental Protection

Artisanal mining supports hundreds of thousands of livelihoods but has also been linked to environmental degradation, including river pollution and deforestation.

Officials say the new framework aims to strike a balance between revenue generation and sustainability, while improving traceability to meet international standards.

Analysts argue that effective enforcement will be key to restoring investor confidence and stabilising Ghana’s currency inflows. Further updates are available on GhanaMedia.net. Also read more on Ghana Policy & Law Hub (ACT 242): Your Guide to National Regulations

Ghana’s Cocoa Sector Faces Fresh Pressure as Farmers Struggle With Price Cuts

Ghana’s cocoa sector is facing renewed scrutiny after farm gate prices were reduced, deepening financial strain on thousands of smallholder farmers across the country.

img 6955 1
Cocoa farmers in Ghana face growing financial strain amid price volatility.

The decision, announced by the Ghana Cocoa Board, comes amid volatile global markets and a widening funding gap within the industry. Ghana is the world’s second-largest cocoa producer, and the crop remains a key source of foreign exchange earnings.

Farmers Caught Between Global Prices and Local Costs

Producers say the price adjustment has left them struggling to cope with rising input costs, including fertiliser, labour and transport. While international cocoa prices have experienced fluctuations, local farmers argue that the benefits have not filtered down to rural communities.

Recent assessments by the World Bank highlight structural vulnerabilities in commodity-dependent economies, warning that price instability can undermine rural livelihoods if reforms are not carefully managed.

Calls for Structural Reform

Industry analysts say the current situation exposes deeper issues within Ghana’s cocoa value chain, including financing challenges, ageing farms and limited local processing capacity.

Observers argue that long-term sustainability will depend on improved transparency, diversification and stronger support systems for farmers. As global demand patterns shift, Ghana’s cocoa sector may need comprehensive reform to maintain its competitive position.

“If I Tell You My Story, You Won’t Believe It” – Bernard ElBernard Nelson-Eshun Reflects on 18 Years of Ministry

Founder and leader of Spiritlife Revival Ministries, Bernard ElBernard Nelson-Eshun, has shared a powerful reflection on his 18-year journey in ministry, revealing the single greatest lesson he has learned since starting his church in 2008.

The Beginning: February 24, 2008

On February 24, 2008, at SUNNY FM Prayer Café in Kanda, Bernard ElBernard Nelson-Eshun held the first Sunday service of Spiritlife Revival Ministries. At the time, he had conviction, passion, and what he describes as a strong sense of divine mandate — but little experience.

Bernard ElBernard Nelson-Eshun reflects on 18 years of ministry and lessons learned.

Eighteen years later, after seasons of growth, battles, miracles, mistakes, expansion, criticism, celebration, loyalty, betrayal, provision, and pressure, he says one truth stands above everything else.

The Greatest Lesson: Absolute Dependence on God

According to the pastor, vision alone is not enough to sustain ministry. Gifting, charisma, and strategy may open doors, but they cannot carry a calling through storms.

“Time will humble you,” he shared. “Time will teach you that what sustains ministry is not brilliance. It is absolute dependence on God.”

He explains that absolute dependence means waking up daily and admitting you do not have all the answers. It means praying before speaking, waiting before moving, and consulting heaven before making announcements on earth. It also means allowing God to interrupt personal plans.

The Cost of Dependence

The seasoned preacher acknowledged that dependence on God is uncomfortable for human pride. It confronts ego, challenges self-reliance, and dismantles the desire for constant validation.

However, he believes it is the very thing that protects destiny. “Absolute dependence means you are not addicted to praise and you are not destroyed by criticism. Your identity is not in trends but in calling. Your confidence is in obedience,” he emphasized.

He further noted that when a leader truly depends on God, everything changes — movement becomes intentional, speech becomes measured, recovery becomes faster, and even silence becomes strategic.

A Message to His Younger Self

Reflecting on his early days at SUNNY FM Prayer Café in 2008, Bernard ElBernard Nelson-Eshun said if he could speak to his younger self, his advice would be simple:

“Do not rush to prove yourself. Do not rush to impress people. Do not rush to defend everything. Stay close to God. Hear Him clearly. Obey Him fully.”

Beyond Numbers and Recognition

After nearly two decades in ministry, the pastor says his greatest achievement is not measured by church growth, buildings, conferences, or public recognition.

Instead, he considers his biggest victory to be learning how to lean fully on God.

Styled by Jacinta Stevens with wardrobe by Jast Mode, the reflection has resonated with many followers who see it as both a testimony and a mentorship message to young ministers navigating their own journeys.

Abetment of robbery under Ghanaian law involves aiding, facilitating, or encouraging the commission of a robbery offense. According to legal standards outlined by international criminal justice bodies such as the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), individuals who assist or enable criminal acts can face prosecution alongside principal offenders.

Background of the Case

The development follows ongoing investigations into a suspected armed robbery syndicate allegedly led by Eric Antwi Duku. Authorities have intensified efforts to clamp down on organized criminal networks, in line with global best practices in combating violent crime, as supported by institutions such as INTERPOL.

While details of the prosecution’s evidence are yet to be fully disclosed in open court, prosecutors maintain that the actress played a role in facilitating or supporting the alleged criminal activities.

What Happens Next?

Patricia Osei Boateng is scheduled to reappear in court on March 16, 2026, where the case is expected to proceed. Legal analysts say the prosecution will need to establish clear evidence linking her actions directly to the alleged robbery operations.

The case has sparked significant public debate, particularly within Ghana’s entertainment industry, as fans and observers await further developments.
