George Lutterodt, a prominent Ghanaian relationship counselor and media personality, has commented on Davido and Chioma Rowland’s recent lavish wedding in Lagos.
The event garnered widespread attention on social media, with Davido speaking Twi and celebrating with guests in a grand ceremony.
While many offered congratulations, Counselor Lutterodt expressed skepticism about the longevity of Davido and Chioma’s marriage.
In an interview with Peace FM, he predicted that their union might not last beyond seven years. Lutterodt cited concerns about past controversies and the tragic loss of a child, suggesting these factors could impact the stability of their relationship.
Lutterodt also pointed to Davido’s history with multiple children from different mothers, raising questions about his commitment to marriage. He hinted that the wedding might be perceived as a gesture rather than a solid foundation built on mutual respect and long-term commitment.
His remarks have sparked online discussion about the complexities of celebrity relationships and the challenges they face under public scrutiny.
Award-winning musician David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, struggled to hide his tears when the father of his wife, Chioma Rowland, prayed for the newly wedded couple.
In a video from the ongoing wedding in Lagos on Tuesday, one of the groom’s men wiped Davido’s tears, after which the singer hugged Chioma’s father, who continued to pray for him.
Chioma’s father asked for divine blessings and prosperity for the young celebrity couple, specifically mentioning beautiful twins. Praying in Igbo, Davido’s father-in-law invoked prosperity, marriage blessings, and fruitfulness for the singer.
He also prayed against any evil coming near the couple, noting that their union was ordained by God.
Davido and Chioma have been surprised with a new car as they tie the knot today. In a video from the ongoing star-studded ceremony in Lagos, the couple was presented with a brand-new white car.
The gift, reportedly from a company showing their love and support for the power couple, perfectly complements Davido’s well-known passion for cars.
For his grand arrival, Davido chose a 2023 Mercedes-Maybach, celebrated for its luxury and exclusivity.
This particular car is a collaboration between Mercedes-Maybach and the late Ghanaian-American designer Virgil Abloh, with only 150 special-edition Maybach S 680 sedans produced worldwide.
The 2023 Mercedes-Maybach Virgil Abloh S680 was undoubtedly a unique and fitting choice for Davido’s big day. The singer shared his arrival on social media, chauffeured amid top security and cheers from fans.
He captioned the post, “Nigeria is happy.” Within two hours, the post garnered over 70,000 comments on Instagram, reflecting the widespread excitement and joy surrounding the couple’s nuptials.
Mabel Tiwaa Rockson, a member of the Ghanaian Gospel music group Halleluyah Voices, has spoken out about the ongoing copyright infringement controversy involving Team Eternity.
The issue arose after Kwame Mickey, a Ghanaian music producer based in the USA, accused Team Eternity of using a portion of a song he produced without obtaining permission, threatening legal action if necessary.
In an interview with Dave Hammer on Hello FM in Kumasi, which was reported by Ghanamedia.net, Mrs. Tiwaa Rockson provided her perspective on the matter. She revealed that she had intentions to create a remix of the song in question.
However, before she could proceed, she heard her children singing a different version of the song, which led her to believe they had already made their own remix.
It was only after this incident that her husband informed her about Kwame Mickey’s social media post regarding the song and the dispute with Team Eternity. Mrs. Tiwaa Rockson mentioned that last week, her husband received a surprising phone call from Team Eternity, during which they allegedly suggested that they should not escalate the issue as if they were secular artists.
As of now, Team Eternity has not issued a public statement addressing the allegations and the copyright dispute. The situation continues to unfold amidst discussions about intellectual property rights and the importance of adhering to proper copyright protocols within Ghana’s music industry.
KV Oostende forward David Atanga has come to the defense of Lawrence Ati-Zigi amidst ongoing criticism of the St. Gallen goalkeeper.
Ati-Zigi, who has faced scrutiny for his performances with the Ghana national team, has the support of Atanga, who insists his former teammate is a talented goalkeeper deserving of more respect.
Atanga urges fans not to judge Ati-Zigi solely on statistics, which he believes don’t accurately reflect the goalkeeper’s true abilities and contributions. Speaking to Mothers FM, Atanga said, “Ati-Zigi has received a lot of criticism from some football fanatics.
He has been labelled as a subpar goalkeeper by many. Truth be told, Ati-Zigi is not a bad goalkeeper. Even the greatest goalkeepers in the world, including Manuel Neuer, have bad days and make mistakes from time to time.”
He continued, “I urge anyone who thinks he is not a good goalkeeper to monitor him at his club, and after watching him, you can decide whether he is good or bad. We shouldn’t only base our judgment on statistics.”
Atanga highlighted the importance of considering the context of a goalkeeper’s performance: “A goalkeeper can concede goals during a game but still make a lot of saves. We played together at Salzburg, and he was nearly turned into an outfield player.
Ati-Zigi is a very good goalkeeper; there is just a lot of pressure when playing for Ghana. In our last two games against Mali and the Central African Republic, our defenders underperformed, and the goalkeeper was blamed.”
Ati-Zigi has been Ghana’s first choice since the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, briefly losing his spot to Richard Ofori during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, but has since reclaimed his position. Atanga’s comments aim to provide a more balanced view of Ati-Zigi’s abilities and the challenges he faces, calling for greater support and understanding from fans.
Music Record Label, OFM Computer World known as DrAcheampong Kasa who manages German-based gospel artist Queenlet, has asked YouTube to pull down Team Eternity Ghana’s hit song “Defe Defe” over alleged copyright infringement.
In a letter to the platform, the record label stated that the popular song reused portions of the original copyrighted song “Defe Defe” by Hallelujah Voices without their permission.
As such, they have requested that the platform change the song’s visibility to prevent individuals from accessing it ahead of pending legal action.
“But before any legal action is taken in Ghana’s capital city court, I request YouTube to make the video private, not visible since its copyright infringement,” the label said.
This was contained in a letter signed by OFM Computer World on June 20.
The letter also asserted that the music group often sampled songs by other musicians without the owners’ permission.
On June 18, in a Facebook post, Kwame Mickey, the executive producer for Hallelujah Voices’ ‘Defe Defe’, alleged that Team Eternity Ghana has infringed on his copyright by using the ‘defe defe’ line for their new hit song.
He wrote: “Who is that Defe Defe singer? If I start right now them go say I am ‘mansonia’. What is the difference between the two songs? Somebody tell her to report and do the needful. That’s all.”
Although structurally, the rhythmic patterns and melodic phrases of the two lines are different, Kwame Mickey is making a case for the similarities in the lyrical content.
‘Defe Defe’ song performed by Hallelujah Voices, was written by Osuani Afrifa and executively produced by Kwame Mickey for Kaakyire Music Productions. It was released in 2004.
The recent copyright issue has sparked a lot of debate. While some argue that Team Eternity’s “Defe Defe” is different from Hallelujah Voices’ song, others contend that the mere fact that two lines are literally the same constitutes copyright infringement.

Former Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has expressed concerns over the scheduling of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, highlighting the challenges it poses for African players.
The tournament’s new dates, set between December 2025 and January 2026, were announced by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) following an Executive Council meeting last Friday.
This timing forces top African players based in Europe to navigate between club commitments and missing the festive season with their families. “It’s a very difficult situation, but this is our job. This is the kind of job we want to do,” Agyemang-Badu shared with Joy Sports.
“You need to be there and represent your country, you need to make yourself proud, your country proud, so whenever you get the call-up, whether it’s Christmas time, whether the European club will worry us, you just need to come and do the job for your country.”
Originally slated for June/July 2025, the AFCON rescheduling was necessitated by Morocco hosting the expanded Club World Cup during that period. The proposed alternative of early 2026 was also untenable due to conflicts with the FIFA World Cup calendar.
Badu also called on CAF to prevent future scheduling conflicts, stating, “It’s just unfortunate, but we need to abide with it and just go with it. I hope it will not repeat itself because it will bring a lot of chaos for the players.”
Ivory Coast are the reigning champions of Africa after winning the delayed 2023 tournament on home soil in February 2024.

In a dramatic turn of events within the personal life of veteran Ghanaian gospel musician Yaw Sarpong, Bishop J.Y. Adu, the singer’s spiritual father, has openly criticized his wife, Pinamang, calling her a hypocrite and a liar.
This accusation adds a new layer of complexity to the ongoing marital saga that has captivated the public.
According to Bishop J.Y. Adu, during a critical period when God instructed the entire family to engage in a three-week fast for Yaw Sarpong’s healing, Pinamang refused to participate.
In stark contrast, Maame Tiwaa, who is not a blood relative but a close associate, committed to the fast for the entire duration, praying fervently for Yaw Sarpong’s recovery.
“Tiwaa, who isn’t even a part of the family, fasted for three weeks to pray for Yaw Sarpong’s healing,” Bishop Adu emphasized. “Yet, Pinamang refused to fast and later abandoned her husband following his recent illness.”
Bishop J.Y. Adu further alleged that Pinamang’s interests lie primarily in Yaw Sarpong’s properties rather than his well-being. He contrasted this with Tiwaa’s selfless dedication, suggesting that Tiwaa’s love and sacrifices were genuine and solely for Yaw Sarpong’s benefit.
Adding to the controversy, Bishop J.Y. Adu disclosed a disturbing incident involving Yaw Sarpong’s children. He claimed that during a period when Yaw Sarpong was unconscious, his children withdrew approximately GHS 20,000 from his MoMo account and also took his phones.
These allegations paint a picture of internal strife and betrayal within the family, further complicating the narrative around Yaw Sarpong’s personal life.
The Bishop’s revelations come on the heels of Mrs. Sarpong’s public accusations on Oyerepa FM, where she accused her husband of infidelity with Tiwaa and criticized her in-laws for mistreatment. These public allegations have sparked significant discussion and concern among fans and followers of the gospel musician.
