Renowned Ghanaian media personality Nana Aba Anamoah has ignited public debate after sharply criticizing prophets who mention celebrities in their prophecies to gain attention and online traction. In a blunt statement shared publicly, Nana Aba described such practices as “clout chasing on a pulpit,” questioning the mental and spiritual grounding of religious leaders who rely on celebrity names to make their prophecies trend.

According to her, prophecies that are supposedly divinely inspired should not need the name of a popular figure to gain relevance or validation. She argued that dragging celebrities into prophetic declarations often fuels unnecessary panic, damages reputations, and shifts focus from genuine spiritual guidance to social media virality.

Nana Aba’s comments come at a time when Ghana’s religious landscape is under intense scrutiny, especially following several controversial prophecies involving public figures that later failed to materialize. These incidents have sparked conversations around accountability, ethics, and regulation within prophetic ministries.
