President John Dramani Mahama visited two Ghanaian survivors of a terrorist attack in northern Burkina Faso, currently receiving treatment at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra. The victims, who were tomato traders, were attacked while traveling on a truck by armed bandits.

Presidential Condolences and Support
Accompanied by Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, President Mahama extended his condolences to the survivors and assured them that the government would cover all medical expenses. “The nation stands with you during this difficult time,” the President emphasized during his visit.

Background of the Attack
The attack in northern Burkina Faso claimed the lives of seven other Ghanaian traders, who have since been laid to rest. The survivors were successfully repatriated by the Ghana Armed Forces and are now receiving intensive medical care at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.

Before visiting the hospital, President Mahama opened the Minerals Commission Local Content Summit in Takoradi, highlighting his commitment to both economic development and the welfare of Ghanaians abroad.

The President reaffirmed that the Ghanaian government will continue to prioritize the safety, medical care, and repatriation of citizens affected by crises abroad, ensuring that survivors receive proper support and that their sacrifices are not forgotten.
