“Look, let’s not waste our time. People are doing business… some people are using GFA to make money, they are using that to feed their families,” he stated.

According to him, player call-ups are sometimes influenced by personal affiliations, including agents and internal relationships within football management structures.

Questions Raised Over Player Selection

Sam George pointed to a specific example involving Ghana international Baba Rahman, questioning his inclusion in a recent World Cup squad despite limited game time.

“Tell me how Baba Rahman found his way into the last squad… What ball had he played?” he asked, suggesting a possible conflict of interest tied to management connections.

He further alleged that the player’s agent has links to the GFA leadership, raising concerns about transparency and fairness in selection processes.

Public Reaction and Growing Frustration

The remarks have triggered intense reactions across social media, with many Ghanaians expressing frustration over the performance of the Black Stars and longstanding concerns about football administration in the country.

While some supporters agree with Sam George’s claims, others are calling for concrete evidence before drawing conclusions, emphasizing the need for accountability and due process.

Calls for Transparency in Ghana Football

The controversy adds to ongoing discussions about governance in Ghanaian football, with fans and analysts demanding greater transparency, professionalism, and merit-based selection.

Stakeholders are now urging the GFA to respond to the allegations and clarify its selection procedures to restore public confidence.

Why This Story Matters

Football remains one of Ghana’s most unifying national passions, and any suggestion of corruption or favoritism strikes at the heart of public trust. Allegations like these, if unaddressed, risk undermining the credibility of the national team and the broader football ecosystem.
