Kumawood actor Yaw Dabo has taken fellow actor Oboy Siki to court over alleged defamatory remarks made during a GhPage interview following a football match dispute.
The two actors appeared before a High Court in Kumasi on February 23, 2026, for the first hearing of the case. The lawsuit, which was initially filed around January 2026, is reportedly being handled at the Adum High Court.
Background of the Dispute
The controversy reportedly began after a disagreement between the two actors at a football match. Tensions escalated when Oboy Siki granted an interview to GhPage, during which he allegedly made several remarks targeting Yaw Dabo personally.
Among the most controversial statements was the phrase “Dabo Kote Ketewa,” which many interpreted as an insult directed at Yaw Dabo. Reports indicate that the comments allegedly went beyond that phrase, including personal attacks on his manhood, marriage prospects, fertility, character, and even aspects of his football management and administrative activities.
$1 Million Defamation Claim
Yaw Dabo is seeking $1 million in damages, arguing that the statements were defamatory and have caused serious harm to his reputation and public image.
According to legal principles governing defamation, the court will determine whether the statements were false, publicly made, and damaging enough to warrant financial compensation.
