12 Killed, Two Injured in Horror Crash on Kumasi–Techiman Highway

At least 12 people have lost their lives and two others sustained injuries following a devastating head-on collision involving a Nissan Caravan and a Shacman trailer on the Kumasi–Techiman highway in Ghana’s Ashanti Region. The tragic accident has once again raised concerns over road safety on one of the country’s busiest transport corridors.

According to reports, the trailer was travelling from Techiman towards Kumasi while the Nissan Caravan was heading in the opposite direction when the two vehicles collided. The impact completely destroyed the minibus, leaving emergency responders with a difficult rescue operation.

Victims Included Men, Women and a Child

Reports indicate that the Nissan Caravan was carrying 14 occupants. Ten people, including four women, six men and a young boy, reportedly died instantly at the scene. Two additional victims later succumbed to their injuries, bringing the death toll to 12. The remaining two survivors were rushed to hospital for treatment.

Authorities Launch Investigation

Medical officials confirmed that the deceased were taken to the morgue pending identification by relatives. Police have meanwhile launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash as authorities seek to determine the exact cause of the collision.
