The health expert noted that the ingredients contain compounds that may contribute to nitric oxide production, which plays an important role in relaxing blood vessels and improving blood flow.

Ingredients Required

  • One unripe plantain or unripe banana.
  • One whole watermelon with the green rind intact.
  • One litre of clean water.

How To Prepare The Mixture

According to Yeboah Agyekum, the unripe plantain should be washed thoroughly without removing the peel and cut into nine round pieces.

The watermelon should also be washed and divided into nine equal parts while keeping the green rind attached.

For each day’s preparation, one slice of watermelon and the nine plantain slices are placed in a container and soaked in one litre of water overnight.

The following morning, the infused water should be consumed gradually on an empty stomach. A fresh preparation is made daily and repeated for nine consecutive days.

The Science Behind The Combination

Watermelon rind naturally contains L-citrulline, an amino acid converted by the body into L-arginine, which helps produce nitric oxide. Nitric oxide contributes to the widening of blood vessels and better circulation.

Unripe plantain also contains flavonoids and antioxidants that may support cardiovascular health and metabolism.

Combined, these compounds may assist blood vessel relaxation and improve blood flow, though medical outcomes can vary from person to person.

Why This Story Matters

Natural remedies are increasingly attracting attention as people search for affordable ways to support their health. However, experts stress that food-based approaches should complement, not replace, professional medical care and prescribed medications.
