A 28-year-old woman identified as Monica Mawu Sibuso has been found dead at her family compound in Kasoa Peace Town in the Central Region, with police investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.

According to reports, Sibuso, who lived in Madina, had travelled to Kasoa to attend funeral rites for a relative on Saturday, October 3, 2026. Her body was reportedly discovered at about 5:30am the following morning by a neighbour at the family compound.
Reports indicate that she was found near a mango tree, prompting immediate concerns about the circumstances leading to her death. The family subsequently alerted the police, who commenced investigations.
Preliminary information cited in media reports suggests that investigators are treating the case as suspected murder and sexual assault rather than suicide. However, the full circumstances of her death have yet to be established through the completion of forensic investigations and an autopsy.
Police are also reportedly examining other leads connected to the incident, including an alleged unauthorised withdrawal of GH₵2,000 from the deceased’s mobile money account.
Her remains have reportedly been conveyed for preservation, with an autopsy expected to help establish the exact cause and manner of death.
No public confirmation of arrests in connection with the case was available in the reports reviewed at the time of publication.
The incident has reportedly left residents of Kasoa Peace Town shocked, while the deceased’s family is calling for a thorough investigation and justice.
