Minority Leader and Effutu MP Alexander Afenyo-Markin has confirmed he is constructing a major Information and Communication Technology (ICT) facility in Osubonpanyin, Effutu constituency, which will be named after Kennedy Agyapong.
In a February 2026 interview on Channel One TV, Afenyo-Markin stated that the project was conceived about five years ago as a “big project” to honour Agyapong’s contributions to the Effutu constituency.

Personal Connection
Afenyo-Markin explained that the naming reflects a personal and political bond with Agyapong, who once supported him with $5 million during a business crisis without a formal agreement.
Impact in Effutu
The MP highlighted Agyapong’s past contributions to the constituency, including providing 22 brand-new taxis, tractors, and outboard motors, which strengthened his performance in previous local party primaries.
Infrastructure Drive in Winneba
The Osubonpanyin ICT facility is part of a wider infrastructure programme by Afenyo-Markin in Winneba, which included the commissioning of the R. C. Ekem Library & ICT Centre in December 2025. More details on development projects are available on GhanaMedia.net.
Once completed, the ICT facility is expected to serve as a centre for digital skills, ICT training, and community development programmes.
