Fresh developments have emerged in the ongoing dispute surrounding the burial of the late Apostle Dr. Ing. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka after reports indicated that police intercepted the hearse that was scheduled to transport his body from Transitions Funeral Home.
The reported intervention comes amid an escalating legal battle over the final funeral and burial arrangements for the founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission and renowned Ghanaian industrialist. The incident follows a court injunction linked to disagreements among family members over the implementation of the late Apostle’s wishes and burial plans.
Earlier this week, Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena, who identifies himself as the Head of the Kantanka Family and Leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana, announced that legal proceedings had been initiated after attempts to resolve differences within the family reportedly failed. He maintained that the burial should proceed in accordance with Apostle Kwadwo Safo’s last Will and testament.
The dispute has generated significant public interest, with conflicting statements emerging from different members of the family regarding funeral arrangements. While some parties insisted the burial would proceed, others maintained that no official burial date had been approved because of the pending legal process.
The reported interception of the hearse marks another dramatic chapter in the dispute. As of publication, authorities have not publicly released a detailed statement explaining the circumstances surrounding the reported police action.
