Ghana’s music industry has earned major recognition on the continental stage after several artistes, producers, DJs and creatives secured nominations for the AFRIMMA Music Fest 2026.
Leading Ghana’s charge is Black Sherif, who received multiple nominations, including Best Male West Africa, Best Male Rap Act, AFRIMMA Album of the Year for IRONBOY, and Song of the Year for So It Goes.
International sensation Moliy also earned nominations in Best Female West Africa and Best Female Reggae/Dancehall, while her hit Shake It to the Max is competing for Song of the Year. Veteran rapper Sarkodie has been nominated for the prestigious AFRIMMA Timeless Impact Award, recognising his enduring contribution to African music and culture.
Other Ghanaian nominees include Shatta Wale, Enam, Eno Barony, Freda Rhymz, DopeNation, MOG Beatz, Babs Direction, Dancegod Lloyd, Incredible Zigi, DJ Sly King, DJ Akua, Moses Sumney, and Ogee The MC, highlighting Ghana’s growing influence across every aspect of the African entertainment industry.
The AFRIMMA Music Fest 2026 marks the return of the awards after a hiatus and will bring together artists, fans and industry stakeholders from across Africa and the diaspora in Dallas, Texas, celebrating African music and culture on a global stage.
