Fidelity Bank Equips Miss Ghana 2026 Contestants with Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurship and Sustainability Skills

ACCRA, Ghana — Contestants competing in the 69th edition of Miss Ghana have received practical training in financial literacy, entrepreneurship and environmental sustainability through a mentorship session hosted by Fidelity Bank Ghana Ltd. at the bank’s head office in Accra.

The engagement, themed “Empowering Women, Enduring Legacy,” formed part of the contestants’ leadership development programme, preparing them to become influential ambassadors, entrepreneurs and community leaders beyond the beauty pageant.

Building Financially Confident Leaders

Chair of the Miss Ghana Foundation, Inna Patty, praised Fidelity Bank for partnering with the organisation to equip the contestants with essential financial knowledge.

She noted that financial independence is as important as beauty, intelligence and passion, especially for queens who will spearhead community development projects through the Foundation’s Beauty With A Purpose initiative.

According to her, contestants must be capable of managing project finances, engaging corporate partners and building sustainable entrepreneurial ventures.

“The Miss Ghana crown is a powerful platform, but to make a lasting, sustainable impact on your communities, you must be equipped to make sound financial decisions,” she stated.

Sustainability Takes Centre Stage

As part of the mentorship, Fidelity Bank highlighted several environmental initiatives aimed at promoting sustainability and reducing waste.

Contestants learned about the bank’s innovative Waste-to-Cash initiative, which converts archived paper into toilet rolls while reducing operational waste.

The bank also outlined its internal ban on single-use plastic bottles and takeaway containers to help combat plastic pollution.

Bank representative Majorie Quansah encouraged the contestants to become advocates for environmental protection, stressing that sustainability is everyone’s responsibility.

Entrepreneurship Support for Young Women

Fidelity Bank introduced contestants to several funding opportunities designed to support youth and women-led businesses.

Among the programmes highlighted were:

  • Orange Corners Innovation Fund
  • Fidelity Young Entrepreneurs Initiative
  • Green Tech Innovation Challenge
  • Orange Inspire Creative Challenge

The bank explained that these initiatives provide grants, concessionary loans and mentorship to help young entrepreneurs build sustainable businesses.

In addition to financial support, beneficiaries also receive a six-month mentorship programme with experienced business professionals.

Investing in Women’s Growth

Director of Marketing at Fidelity Bank, Esi Mills-Robertson, emphasised that financial literacy remains one of the most valuable life skills.

She explained that although many people complete years of formal education, few receive practical financial education capable of helping them build wealth and make informed financial decisions.

She added that Fidelity Bank remains committed to empowering women through initiatives such as the Orange Women’s Network, which supports financial literacy, healthcare, menstrual hygiene and educational infrastructure.

Contestants Express Appreciation

Speaking on behalf of the contestants, Davinia thanked Fidelity Bank for providing mentorship that would benefit them beyond the Miss Ghana competition.

The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, networking opportunities and a group photography session.

The 69th Miss Ghana pageant is organised by Exclusive Events Ghana, with support from Multimedia Ghana, Fidelity Bank Ghana Ltd., and several corporate and media partners committed to developing women who inspire positive change across Ghana.
