President John Dramani Mahama will undertake a five-day working visit to South Korea from March 10 to March 14, 2026, aimed at strengthening diplomatic relations, expanding economic cooperation, and promoting investment opportunities between Ghana and the Asian nation.
High-Level Talks with South Korean Leadership
During the visit, President John Dramani Mahama is expected to hold bilateral discussions with South Korea’s President Lee Jae Myung, focusing on enhancing strategic partnerships in trade, technology, energy, and industrial development. The Ghanaian leader will also meet with the Speaker of the Korean National Assembly, Woo Won-shik, to explore opportunities for stronger parliamentary cooperation and policy collaboration between the two countries.
Ship-Naming Ceremony at Hyundai Heavy Industries
One of the major highlights of the visit will be President Mahama’s participation in a ship-naming ceremony at the Hyundai Heavy Industries Shipyard in Ulsan, one of the world’s largest shipbuilding facilities. The event symbolizes growing cooperation between Ghana and South Korea in maritime development, shipping, and industrial partnerships.
Academic Engagement at Yonsei University
President Mahama will also deliver a speech at a conference ceremony at Yonsei University, one of South Korea’s most prestigious institutions. Meeting the Ghanaian Community in South Korea

Investment Talks with Korean Business Leaders
The trip will conclude with a dinner meeting between President Mahama and top Korean business executives and industry leaders.
