Villarreal head coach Marcelino has expressed full confidence in midfielder Thomas Partey as the team prepares to face Tottenham Hotspur in London.
Speaking ahead of the highly anticipated clash, Marcelino praised Partey’s readiness both on and off the pitch.
“I am totally convinced that he is mentally prepared and technically prepared to play tomorrow night. For sure he will be ready. We are very happy Thomas is with us for his football capacity, football ability and his presence as a human,” the coach stated.
The Ghanaian international, who has previously featured for several top European clubs, joined Villarreal this season and is already seen as a key figure in the squad. Marcelino highlighted Partey’s wealth of experience and predicted he will soon reach his peak performance.
“He is a great player with a lot of experience. He has played for a lot of top clubs. We know he has a great level. I think he will get back to a top level. I am very happy he is with us in the team,” Marcelino added.
Villarreal will be hoping Partey’s quality and leadership will boost their chances as they take on Spurs in a crucial encounter.
