MTN Ghana has won six awards at the 2026 National Project Management Conference and Project Management Excellence Awards organised by the Project Management Institute (PMI) Ghana Chapter, marking a major recognition of the company’s project delivery, telecommunications infrastructure, technology development and leadership.
The awards, announced in Accra on August 12, 2026, recognised MTN Ghana’s performance across several areas of project management and execution.
Among the biggest wins was the Fiber Go-Big FTTH Project, which received both Project of the Year and Telecom Project of the Year.
MTN Ghana also received the First Runner-Up award for PMO of the Year through its Transformation Office, while the CS Hardware Expansion Project, also known as CIS NextGen, was named Second Runner-Up for IT Project of the Year.
Two MTN Ghana professionals were also recognised in the Project Manager of the Year category. Edward Ohene Antwi Boasiako emerged as winner, while Manuella Asianoa was named First Runner-Up.
The six recognitions were: Project of the Year – Winner – Fiber Go-Big FTTH Project; Telecom Project of the Year – Winner – Fiber Go-Big FTTH Project; PMO of the Year – First Runner-Up – MTN Ghana Transformation Office; IT Project of the Year – Second Runner-Up – CS Hardware Expansion Project; Project Manager of the Year – Winner – Edward Ohene Antwi Boasiako; and Project Manager of the Year – First Runner-Up – Manuella Asianoa.
The Fiber Go-Big FTTH Project was particularly significant for MTN Ghana after expanding broadband access across six regions of Ghana. The project exceeded its target for homes passed while increasing the company’s fibre coverage and connected homes.
The CS Hardware Expansion Project, or CIS NextGen, was recognised for upgrading MTN Ghana’s customer information systems infrastructure. According to the company, the project improved system capacity, reliability and service availability.
MTN Ghana’s Transformation Office was also recognised for its role in overseeing projects across the business and ensuring that investments deliver their intended results.
Commenting on the achievement, MTN Ghana Chief Executive Officer Stephen Blewett said the awards represented more than individual projects, describing them as evidence of strategy being translated into execution.
He said every fibre home passed and every system upgraded represents a building block of MTN Ghana’s Ambition 2030 strategy and its commitment to delivering digital solutions for Africa’s progress.
Blewett also commended the company’s Transformation Office, project teams and partners for their role in turning strategic ambitions into practical solutions for customers and the country.
William Tetteh, Chief Transformation Officer of MTN Ghana, said the recognition reflected deliberate discipline in delivering the company’s business plans.
He stressed that successful project delivery requires careful planning, accountability and close attention to execution, adding that exceeding targets was the result of disciplined project management rather than chance.
The 2026 National Project Management Conference and Project Management Excellence Awards brought together project management professionals, business leaders and industry stakeholders to recognise outstanding achievements in project delivery and examine the contribution of project management to business growth and national development.
For MTN Ghana, the six awards reinforce the company’s focus on infrastructure, digital transformation and disciplined execution as it advances its Ambition 2030 strategy.
