EDJEBA, DELTA STATE, NIGERIA — A young lawyer has reportedly been killed after allegedly being attacked by her boyfriend during a violent altercation at his apartment in Edjeba, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria.
According to reports, the victim had visited her boyfriend when an argument allegedly broke out between the couple. The disagreement is believed to have turned violent, leading to the woman’s death. Authorities say the suspect was arrested before he could allegedly dispose of the body.
Early reports circulating on social media claimed the suspect attempted to conceal the crime, but the landlord reportedly became suspicious after noticing unusual activities around the apartment. Police were alerted and arrived at the scene, where they arrested the suspect and recovered the victim’s body.
The Delta State Police Command has confirmed the murder and the arrest of the suspect. Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, said investigations are ongoing and urged the public to avoid spreading unverified claims, including viral rumours alleging the victim had been beheaded.
The tragic incident has sparked outrage across Nigeria, with many calling for justice and renewed conversations about domestic violence, toxic relationships and the safety of women.
