Interior Minister Confirms Identities

Ghana’s Interior Minister, Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, confirmed that seven of the victims were Ghanaians. He disclosed that the bodies were burnt beyond recognition and are yet to be formally identified.

The victims were part of a group of tomato traders travelling on a supply lorry when they were targeted by the attackers.

Evacuation Efforts Underway

Ghanaian officials say road access to the area remains blocked, making it difficult for embassy staff to reach the scene. Authorities are working to evacuate surviving citizens and coordinate with Burkinabè officials.
