A Police officer identified as Chief Inspector Emmanuel Amoah, who was stationed at the Odorkor Divisional Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD), has reportedly been found dead at a Police rented quarters near the Abossey Okai Post Office area in Accra.

The tragic incident reportedly occurred on May 14, 2026, at about 12:35 p.m., according to preliminary information gathered by authorities.

Reports indicate that the deceased officer was discovered in his bedroom with a sponge tied around his neck and attached to a wooden crossbar. The body was reportedly found in a seated position on the floor beside the bed.
Further observations during the initial inspection allegedly revealed signs of fresh blood coming from the anus of the deceased. Authorities also noted that the bedroom did not appear to have been disturbed during the incident.
According to details from the scene, measurements taken from the point where the sponge was tied to the crossbar to the position of the deceased measured approximately six feet.
