Miss Ghana 2026, Rumzia Sule, has received Ghana’s official charity auction gift ahead of her appearance at the 75th Anniversary Edition of the Miss World Festival in Vietnam, in a symbolic send-off highlighting Ghana’s culture, heritage and growing global presence.
The presentation was organised by the Diaspora Affairs Office at the Office of the President in partnership with the Ghana Tourism Authority and formed part of preparations for Rumzia Sule’s international representation of Ghana.
The distinctive gift, inspired by Ghana’s iconic Independence Arch, has been designated for the Miss World Charity Auction, one of the longstanding traditions associated with the global pageant. Participating countries present items reflecting their culture, heritage and national identity, with proceeds supporting humanitarian initiatives associated with the Miss World Organisation.

During the presentation, Director of Diaspora Affairs at the Office of the President, Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD), congratulated Rumzia Sule and the Miss Ghana runners-up on their achievements and encouraged the reigning queen to represent Ghana with confidence and pride.
“You are carrying the hopes and pride of an entire nation. Just as our national teams have represented Ghana on the world stage, go out there with confidence and let the world experience the very best of Ghana. Make us proud,” he told the queen.
KOD also reaffirmed the Diaspora Affairs Office’s commitment to working with the Miss Ghana brand to strengthen engagement with Ghanaians living abroad and promote Ghana’s image internationally.
Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Gilbert Aggrey, popularly known as Abeiku Santana, described the Independence Arch-inspired gift as a powerful representation of Ghanaian history and national identity.
He noted that the Independence Arch represents Ghana’s historic position as the first country in sub-Saharan Africa to gain independence and remains an enduring symbol of freedom, resilience and African leadership.
“Ghana is the Gateway to Africa. We are presenting a symbolic heritage gift that tells our story to the world. Go and shine with the pride of Africa, the Black Star of the world, and let everyone know where you come from,” he said.
Abeiku Santana also assured the delegation of the Ghana Tourism Authority’s continued support for using the Miss World platform to promote Ghana internationally.
The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Film Authority, James Gardiner, similarly encouraged Rumzia Sule to remain confident throughout the competition, stressing the importance of authenticity and purpose as she represents Ghana on the global stage.
Receiving the gift on behalf of Ghana, Rumzia Sule expressed appreciation to the Government of Ghana and its partners for the confidence placed in her.
“I am deeply humbled by this gesture and grateful for the confidence that has been placed in me. I will carry Ghana with pride, honour our culture and traditions, and do my utmost to make every Ghanaian proud on the Miss World stage,” she said.
The Managing Director of Exclusive Events Ghana and Chair of the Miss Ghana Foundation, Inna Patty, Esq., also expressed appreciation to the Diaspora Affairs Office, the Ghana Tourism Authority and other partners for supporting Ghana’s participation in the international event.
She said Ghana’s participation goes beyond beauty and pageantry, describing the Miss World platform as an opportunity to showcase the country’s culture, tourism, creativity and national heritage while contributing to humanitarian causes.
“This gift will not only showcase the richness of our cultural heritage before a global audience, but will also contribute to raising funds for the Miss World Organisation’s humanitarian projects across the world,” Inna Patty said.
She added that investment in Ghana’s queens represents an investment in youth empowerment, tourism promotion, cultural diplomacy and national development.
Rumzia Sule was crowned Miss Ghana 2026 after emerging ahead of 12 other contestants at the 69th edition of the national pageant. The official Miss World platform confirms that she will represent Ghana at the 75th Anniversary Edition of Miss World in Vietnam.
Her official Miss Ghana profile describes her as a Public Relations graduate and international flight attendant whose platform centres on inspiring young girls, embracing education and empowering Ghanaian women.
With the international spotlight now turning toward Vietnam, Rumzia’s journey gives Ghana another opportunity to project its history, culture, tourism and values before a global audience.
Ghana’s Diaspora Connection Gets a Wider Platform
For Ghanaians living abroad, international events such as Miss World also create an important opportunity to strengthen the connection between the diaspora and home. Beyond cheering for Ghana’s representative, diaspora engagement can translate into tourism, travel, cultural exchange, investment and stronger economic links with Ghana.

That broader connection is one reason GhanaMedia.net is working with World Travel & Tours and Unity Link Financial Services as partners serving members of the Ghanaian and wider African diaspora.
For Ghanaians in Germany and elsewhere in Europe who are planning journeys to Ghana, arranging international travel or looking for assistance with Ghana-related financial services, World Travel & Tours provides travel-related services including flight ticketing and airline reservations. The company also works with Unity Link Financial Services on financial services and money-transfer solutions connecting customers with Ghana and other destinations.
World Travel & Tours operates from Hamburg and serves customers seeking international travel assistance, while its partnership with Unity Link extends the service offering into financial connectivity for customers sending or receiving funds.
For the diaspora community following Rumzia Sule’s Miss World journey, this creates a practical reminder that supporting Ghana internationally is not limited to pageantry. Travel, remittances, tourism, family connections and investment all form part of the wider relationship between Ghanaians abroad and the country they call home.

As Ghana’s representative prepares for the global stage, the message is therefore bigger than a crown. Rumzia Sule will carry Ghanaian identity, heritage and aspirations into an international environment where every appearance can become an opportunity to tell Ghana’s story.
Rumzia Sule is expected to join contestants from more than 100 countries and territories at the historic Miss World festival in Vietnam, bringing Ghana’s Black Star identity, cultural heritage and humanitarian aspirations to one of the world’s most recognised international platforms.
Ghana will be watching.
