Interior Minister Visits Injured Fire Officer and Accra Central Police Barracks After Devastating Fire Outbreak

Ghana’s Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has visited an injured fire officer receiving treatment at the Police Hospital following the recent fire outbreak at the Accra Central Police Barracks.

The minister was accompanied by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and the Chief Fire Officer as part of efforts to assess the impact of the incident and provide support to affected personnel and their families.

Visit to Injured Fire Officer

During the visit to the Police Hospital, the delegation met with the injured fire officer who was hurt while responding to the blaze. The officials offered words of encouragement and wished the officer a speedy recovery.

The visit highlighted the risks faced daily by emergency responders who put their lives on the line to protect lives and property during fire emergencies across Ghana.

Assessment of Fire Damage at Police Barracks

Following the hospital visit, the Interior Minister and security chiefs proceeded to the Accra Central Police Barracks to inspect the affected area firsthand. They interacted with personnel, assessed the extent of the damage, and received briefings from officials on the ground.

The delegation assured affected officers and their families that government would work closely with relevant agencies to provide the necessary assistance and support following the disaster.
