A suspect being transferred to court in Kumasi allegedly attempted a dramatic escape after throwing pepper into the eyes of a Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officer escorting him.

The shocking incident reportedly occurred near the premises of Akoma FM, where the suspect allegedly attacked the officer in an effort to flee custody before being pursued and rearrested moments later.

According to reports and viral videos circulating on social media, the suspect managed to pour raw pepper directly into the officer’s eyes while being escorted for a court appearance. Despite suffering visible pain and temporary blindness, the CID officer reportedly refused to release the suspect during the chaotic confrontation.
Dramatic Pursuit Behind Akoma FM
Eyewitnesses said the suspect attempted to run away after attacking the officer, sparking a tense chase around the area behind Akoma FM in Kumasi.
The officer, with support from nearby individuals, eventually succeeded in rearresting the suspect before transporting him back into police custody.
The disturbing footage has since gone viral across social media platforms, with many Ghanaians praising the determination and bravery of the CID officer.

The incident has also triggered public concern about how the suspect allegedly managed to conceal pepper while under police custody and during court transfer procedures.
