Investigations Underway
Authorities in Ireland have launched two separate investigations into the incident. One inquiry is being handled by the Garda Síochána, while another has reportedly been opened by Fiosrú, Ireland’s police ombudsman body.
The incident has generated significant public reaction both in Ireland and internationally, with members of the Congolese community and anti-racism organizations demanding transparency and accountability.
Activists have called for an independent investigation into the use of force during the restraint, raising broader concerns about security practices and treatment of Black individuals during arrests or confrontations.
