Breakdown of the Alleged Expenses

According to details presented on the programme, the man claims he paid approximately GH¢9,000 towards the woman’s teacher training college fees from Level 200 through Level 400.

He further alleged that he provided monthly upkeep money of GH¢2,000, which he estimates amounted to GH¢64,000 over the course of the relationship.

Additional expenses reportedly include GH¢5,000 for examination-related costs and GH¢8,000 allegedly given to support the woman’s mother, among several other financial commitments.

Public Reactions Grow

The case has generated intense discussion among Ghanaians, with many debating whether financial support given during a romantic relationship should be considered recoverable after a breakup.

Others have questioned the legal and moral implications of seeking reimbursement for gifts, educational support, and other expenditures made voluntarily during a relationship.

Why This Story Matters

The dispute highlights a growing conversation in Ghana about finances, expectations, and accountability within relationships. As more such cases gain public attention, questions continue to arise over where generosity ends and financial obligation begins.
