Several Ghanaians who were allegedly lured by promises of overseas travel through an organisation identified as IGNITE have reportedly been found housed at a location in Nigeria, according to information and video footage circulating online.
The reports indicate that the individuals were allegedly promised opportunities to travel abroad but were instead taken to Nigeria under circumstances that differed from what they had initially been told.
Footage circulating on social media shows several individuals, including men and women, speaking about their situation at what appears to be a location in Nigeria. Some of those featured in the footage appear distressed as they recount their experiences.
According to the information accompanying the footage, members of the group allegedly paid various sums of money after being offered opportunities to travel overseas. They were reportedly taken to Nigeria rather than the destinations they expected and subsequently housed at the location.
The circumstances surrounding the group, including the exact number of Ghanaians involved, their identities, the location where they were found and the organisation or individuals responsible for their movement, have not been independently established by GhanaMedia.net.
The development has nevertheless raised renewed concerns about deceptive recruitment and overseas travel offers targeting Ghanaians. Nigerian authorities have previously referred to an alleged “QNET/IGNITE” network, while QNET has publicly stated that IGNITE is a separate organisation and denied affiliation with the suspects described in an August 2026 Nigerian Immigration Service operation.
