One of the screenshots contains the statement: “Yaw paaa… Lost your life over a … woman bro”. GhanaMedia has preserved the context of the message but does not treat the statement itself as proof of the circumstances or cause of death.
The material also includes a WhatsApp exchange in which the correspondent confirms that the discussion concerns the missing man. Another message describes the woman as a “very close family friend.”
The Teshie disappearance
Nana Yaw Kyere was reported missing after travelling to Teshie in Accra in connection with a phone business transaction. Reports surrounding the case said he had communicated with an associate from Teshie and that unusual messages were sent from his phone.
According to accounts published during the initial disappearance, a message allegedly claimed that Nana Yaw had been “set up” by a girl in a room. A photograph and location were reportedly shared before later disappearing from the WhatsApp conversation.
His Honda Civic, bearing registration number DV B9055, also became part of the investigation. Subsequent reports indicated that the vehicle had been located and that suspects had been arrested in connection with the disappearance.
What remains unclear
The most important question remains unanswered: what exactly happened to Nana Yaw Kyere after he travelled to Teshie?
While GhanaMedia’s source in Germany maintains that Nana Yaw died by suicide and associates his reported death with emotional distress involving a woman, GhanaMedia has not seen an official death certificate, autopsy report, police statement, hospital record or family confirmation establishing that account.
